I've been testing the new version of Edge from Microsoft. It's built on the Chromium engine and it is awesome.
We had to stop using Chrome because of issue with the software reporting tool scanning our PCs sending CPU utilization to 100%.
If you aren't familiar with it the Software Reporting...

Anyone know the # of tuning lugs on the Yamaha 18" Bass Drum?
Pics of the BOP kit show 12 but pics of the individual 18" on MF shows 16.
I was thinking about grabbing an 18" Bass drum but don't want it if it's only 6 lugs per side.
Thanks,
Dennis
I'm bouncing around looking at older kits and came across some Standards and Rockers. There are Rockers with standard lugs that are pretty cheap and some with classic lugs that cost more. Just curious about how fragile the standard lugs are compared to the classic lugs.
Would it be better...
I've seen the snare drum notated in two different spots on the staff. Just curious as to why.

I got the song from iTunes and slowed it down in CEP2.0 to about 60% but really wish I had the score. I've googled and can't find the drum part anywhere.
This song is WAYYY above my head (fast) so the music would help. If anyone knows where I can buy it that would be great.
Thanks,
Dennis

Is this a common exercise? I tried to transcribe but I'm missing something... it just doesn't sound right.
Thanks,

I've uploaded a video to youtube and would like some help or advise. I really didn't realize how bad it was until I watched it so I'm a bit reluctant to embarrass myself but WTH.
Bad Ride - I've been working on this and it's just horrible so I'm positing it here for some advise. Ride is a...
Goto http://www.mikeslessons.com/ and check out groovescribe. Pretty neat little tool. It's only 4/4 so it doesn't get very deep but still a lot of fun and a good learning tool.

3.10.2024 - Edit: quite a bit has changes since the original version. Great practice tool.
Picked up a 16" Ziljdian A crash at a pawn shop yesterday for 50 bucks. They had it advertised on CL and I beat the three other folks that had called before me to the shop.
My first crash :
Nice drumming as well.
Doesn't get much better than this...
Listening to 12th Street Jump on the way home and heard some stunning trumpet playing by a kid named Hermon Mehari. Playing a Hugh Masekela tune called Ziph' Inkomo.
Music starts at the 10Min mark...
