Hey folks, didnt know what section to put this under as it comes under both :)

I have a tama superstar hyperdrive 7pc. 10x6.5, 12x7, 13x7.5-8 ( i dunno ) 14x12 and 16x14. Snare and bass dont matter the now im mainly asking about the toms. As you know the hyperdrive kit has shallower toms than other drums. I play metal, i know this isnt the best kit for this music but i liked it :). i have a drum dial and using Evans G2 coated heads and following the guide 75-78 tension for the toms etc... but this doesnt take into account for the shallow toms and tuning up to this its a little tight.

So why im here is to ask what do you, recommend for a nice sounding tom ( i know personal preference and stuff ) a kinda happy medium on both ends of the spectrum. Ill take all ideas into consideration and ill let you know how it turns out :)

Thanks

I have the same kit with 12 13 14 rack toms and 16 floor and find it great for metal, same thing Jason Costa of All that remains uses, I likes the sound of the coated Evans G2 but found them a bit to muted for me so went with G2 clear on top and clear G1 on bottom. I have mine tuned just slightly higher about 80 on top and 75 reso and really like the sound of them, As far as what your sound like its all up to you and if it sounds great to you thats all that matters but I think your on the right track.
