A very good lesson, neatly played and your use of dynamics was very good also your cymbal selections for crashes and when to use the ride to open the sound up and to close it back down when you return to the hats!!! Pretty good sound for just one mic and a nice setup with your drums.
Your a little tentitive but I think thats from the head set use and being more familar with the song. It will help you to learn how the vocalists sings a song so your approach is closer to the vocalists. To many drummers today don't realize that how a singer sings should influence how a song is played this way the singer and the rhythm section are tight.
Your working on a shuffle thats medium to drag tempo so its perfect to practice your left handed ghost notes on the snare. You actually played them over the toms towards the end of the tune. Theres lots of hi hat patterns to practice with that tune also, along with quarter note kick downs on the bass drum. All and all a great tune to practice fills on and its not that easy of a tune either. Good job, head up when you play and sit straight, no back curve be aware of your posture. best to you! Doc

Nice try. Good feel and sound. Some groove issues and clams to get sorted out - trying to get locked in with the bass should help there. The song's harder than it looks; my band's just started working on a cover.
Have you heard the live version on YouTube? It's a killer arrangement!
