Hello. It's been a while, and at least 4 kits since I've last posted. :)
Here's my latest:

Yamaha Maple Custom 30th Anniversary Kit (1998) - Green Sparkle
10x9
12x10
14x12
16x14
22x18
Ludwig COB 6.5x14 w/ brass diecast & tube lugs

My thoughts:
About 10 years ago, I had a custom Pork Pie Maple kit that sounded AMAZING. This kit sounds almost identical. I think it's the 7 ply shells that is so appealing to me. I much prefer the sound to my old DW exotic.
Anyway, it's totally killer.

Stunning drums! The Yammie Maple Custom is the best maple kit on the market as far as I'm concerned followed by luddie classics in a close second.

Thanks for the pointer, Harry.. This ones a beaut. ( I love fried green onions...really ) . Boy, they wimped out on the clasp on lugs, eh? I guess bad press can kill you no matter what the truth is...

Agree with the OP in his preference of these over the DW EXOTICS. To my ear MCANS sing and Dubs thud.
