Former Cold Chisel drummer, Steve Prestwich, passed away a couple of days ago after he was diagnosed with a brain tumour two weeks ago.
Some Aussie drummers aren't well-known in other countries but Steve was a fine player. When he started out he was a pretty straightforward rocker with good feel and groove but as time went on his playing became more sophisticated.
Here's a few of my Chisel favourites.

He will be missed.

You kids really need to learn to use the search function, if you're going to post on such popular topics. :-)
(At least you managed to find the right sub-forum)

Sorry Pocket. I did a search before posting but didn't get a result. No idea why it didn't work. Anyway, the thread you started is here so they cross-reference: http://www.drummerworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71121
He wasn't much older than me. Same with Harvey James, who died the day before Steve did. Sobering ...

There's a bit of life left in the young gal yet, isn't there? :-)
Great links too btw.......I got lost on youtube for over an hour last night listening to old Chisel classics. Still can't get Goodbye Astrid outta my head this morning!!

Oh man, so sad. I was just listening to Swingshift the other day and had no idea until I just saw this. I was hoping someday to catch Chisel on one of their reunion shows when back in oz. His drumming was perfect for the band.
