View Full Version : Paiste RUDE 24" Ride/Crash

I just picked this cymbal up, and can't find any information on it. There is a 24" rude mega power ride, and a 20" rude ride/crash on the website, but no 24" ride crash. It sounds absolutely awesome, I have found my perfect ride after 12 years of playing. I just wanted some info as to it's age, people's thoughts on the cymbal, whatever really. It won't kill me if there is no info on it, because I'll love it either way, I'm just curious why there is none. Thanks

Nice find! How well does it crash? I love this site, heres the page for it. It was made in the original series and 3000 RUDE, discontinued with the 2002 RUDEs it seems.

Thanks jodgey4, I couldnt find anything on the cymbal, this helps alot. As for crashing, it is crashable, but only it very loud playing settings. It's a great cymbal overall

Eh I don't really like any of the rude rides, just not my taste, I do like thier crashes though. This is a medium/heavy cymbal, I've never heard it but it sounds like it would be a great monster crash for hard rock and metal.
Did you get this at a drum shop, online, eBay?

It was in the Paiste catalog for many years, from the 80's well into the 90's.
24" are rarely popular sellers, so I guess they just bring that one back.

Does it look like the newer rudes or does it have a number after it such as 3000?

The RUDE 24" Ride/Crash is from the early days of the RUDE line. Now, the 24" RUDE is the Mega Power Ride. Heavier than the Ride/Crash.

In the Paiste Cymbal Guide 2010 it appears as 24" Mega Power Ride, it also shows a legend colour coding.
So far, in the Paiste family the only 24" rides in nowadays are: Giant Beat (I have one), Rude Mega Power ride and Alpha Rock Ride.
...I hope it helps.
I use the 2oo2 crash 24" as a ride, it is wonderfull, i love it just as much as my 24" Giant Beat!
