I have learned a lot of rudiments because it was something my teacher made me do every week. However, when I want to solo on the snare, I can't seem to use all the rudiments and make it flow. I always play a rudiment and then have to stop to play something else.

I don't know if this is making sense but I guess what I am trying to ask is how do I use the rudiments I know and make a flowing solo.

When I watch and listen to other people solo they seem to make it flow and are able to use different rudiments in a way that doesn't make the solo sound choppy or have breaks.

Any help would be great. Thanks

When one speaks of rudimental solos, they usually mean notated solos - although improvising on rudiments is a good outlet for creativity. Try these books - they will help you with combining the rudiments.

After these, you can move on to books by Pratt, Wilcoxon, and others.

Do you mean soloing on the snare drum, or applying the rudiments to the drum-set?

when I think of snare drum solo's I think of accents.
