Hey Crew,

I'm an old geezer (53, as most here already know) and have just recently gotten this song down to the 9's.
It's damn fast (at least for me) and it's taken almost 3 weeks to nail it to the wall. I wanted to learn this song, as I used to hang out with M.C. in the 80's at The Rainbow, Troubadore, The Whiskey, and a few other Sunset bars.

Now, I wonder, is it as hard for me to do this one as anyone else, or is it just the "age" thing?
The song is "Live Wire" by Motley Crue. Here's the version that I jam to:

Which parts are hard for you? The double pedal parts are relatively slow & it has a few quick stops but other than that its pretty straight forward rock drumming. I always ove the cowbell count-in at the end though. Favorite part of the song!

Hey Indian,

Well, none of the song is hard anymore!I I do 32nd notes on the bass pedals just for S&G, and because it helps keep me fast. (for a geezer)

I gotta agree- the cowbell riffs just smoke it, and I love throwing them in, as needed.

Cheers,

Great tune. No problem playing it here, but I've been playing it since early 1982 at least (I got the first LP on Leathür as soon as they pressed it, because I've known the guys in Motley Crue since the late 70s--my cousins in LA used to hang out with them). The band I was in during 1982, which was a hard rock/metal band that played a lot of covers, played three or four songs off that first album.

Hey Brew,

Aw Holy cow- don't tell me you might be "Redhead Brewski" from the old days in the Rainbow and the Troubadore in the late 70's and early 80's-- that would give me a heart attack! If that's you, then you know Pam Jackson, Valerie H., and Blackie from W.A.S.P.

If that was/is you, PM me right the hell now, I''l give you my #, and we'll hook up by phone!

Cheers,
C. P.
