Hey everyone, long time no see.

Can anyone reference a good place to learn how to build drum shells? I've been thinking about building myself another floor tom, and later maybe a whole kit. Thanks!

drumshed.org (http://www.drumshed.org/forum/) Is a great place to find what you need! Use the search feature there and you will find what you are needing.

A great place is also www.ghostnote.net. Almost everyone there was quite helpful to me and you could spend days perusing the site just getting info. good luck.

Very few people at ghostnote build shells, and there is not much information to be had there about shell building. Only a handful of stave builders and you will have to pay $20 for access to manuals.

Try http://pdgood.us/drumshed/ and you will find what you are looking for for free.

Both drumshed and ghostnote are great sites, but I think drumshed is more like what you are looking for. It is more nut and bolts oriented, so to speak, and Crazy is right, it won't coat you anything.
