What model is it and how much does it roughly cost? The finish is called Black Bowling Wrap, I think! Tell me what you know. :)

Looks like you've got all the info you need in that yellow box, except that this configuration (13/16/22) is often called a "Super Classic". It's from 1971, so the shells would be the coveted 3-ply shells with reinforcing rings. Right now, you can find these for pretty cheap. With smaller vintage drums commanding higher prices, and the economy still in the toilet, the Super Classics are selling for very little, like around $500 in my neighborhood, and probably cheaper on eBay (I don't know...I don't keep tabs on eBay).

It says his snare is a Ludwig 402, which means it's a 6.5" deep Supraphonic. Those are around $300-400.

Wow. I'd love to buy one of those knowing the price now, shame I'm in the UK! :(

Yeah, they're cheaper in their country of origin. I don't know what they go for in the UK.

They're GREAT drums! You should be aware that there was less consistency from drum to drum back then, and some of them ARE duds, but for the most part, they're good. I wouldn't buy a kit unless I got a chance to play on one first, but in your situation, that might just be a rare occurance. Ebay probably would be a good bet, but the shipping would drive the cost up...

The UK might be a rough place to buy vintage Ludwig, but you might want to look at vintage Premier: http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/premier_drumsets_1968.html

I can't find any Ludwig kits in Black Bowling Wrap on .com or uk sites. Is there another name for the wrap? It looks like Black Oyster Wrap.

Black Oyster Pearl is the name of the finish.

It's also available to buy to re-wrap drums now. That finish is listed as 60's Black Oyster.
It's different than the usual version because it's semi-transparent and the new stuff is on a white base. The older 60's stuff is cooler and has more shimmer.

Precision Drum Co. has it, but they are in the U.S. I'm sure there are supply co's in the UK that have it also.

Good luck!
