I need to replace the head on my 10" tom (i almost busted through it) and I was wondering what the best sounding head would be for a 10" tom. It is a birch Tama Starclassic Performer if that makes a difference.

Thanks in advance,
Jordan

What heads are currently on your 10 in tom and your other toms? What type of music do you play? What did, or didn't you like about the old head? What sound type are you looking for?
These are some of the things to consider when selecting heads.

I don't think sound should be your priority, if you almost busted through a head then you should look for durability first.
Ok, if your almost busting through heads then it doesn't matter what head you put on your kit it won't sound good with you playing it. Sorry to say. Get the thickest heads you can find slap them on and start working on your technique Again I apologize I'm not trying to put you down, I'm just trying to provide you with realistic advice. Good luck and try not to hit that hard you will injure yourself.

That's a very nice set of drums. What type of music do you play? Give us more details and maybe we can help a bit more.
