6 months learning am i progressing?

I have been learnin the drums for 6 months and i just wanted to ask if someone who doesn't know me (unbias oppinion) how i am progressing...

I can 8th note beats using syncopated bass and snare work including open high hat 16th note beats without syncopation.

Have a strong understanding of half and double time and can perform both

Perform fills in both 8th and 16th

Do basic rudiments double single and paradiddle

and am halfway through learning bullet for my valentines "when hearts burst into fire" and slipknots "duality"

The only reason i am posting this is to get some feed back as to how i am progressing cuz i tend to be hard on myslef and want to learn things at a million miles an hour lol.

Any input would be brilliant., thanx lads

Just too hard to tell without seeing you play mate. Get that clip up and you'll get a wealth of feedback.

Sounds good mate, although obviously we don't know what your 'touch' is like. I mean, I might play one of my old standard beats now and it sounds so much better because of those dynamics.

But what you're actually learning seems good. I've only been playing a couple of years so I'm hardly a guru, but I seem to be doing pretty well and all I've really stuck to is 'what I'm good at' which I think is the best way to go. Branch out, but do it slowly...Because it's better to play one thing brilliantly than lots of things mediocrely.
