Alright.

So here's what I do sometimes...

I lay down on my bed, so that from my ankle to my knees is perpendicular (90 degree)
to the ground. Feet flat on the floor. Heel down in other words. Then i do 5 sets of
50 bars of sixteenth notes with my feet. Heel down. I can feel a good burn on the top
of my feet when I do this. It seems like I get more of a work out doing this than when
doing the same thing on the set, probably because of the height of my thrown.

Now my question is... is this a destructive exercise... By doing this, am I actually limiting
myself? or is it a reasonable foot exercise to do. I just don't wanna be going down a bad
road with it if its something that could slow me down in the long run.

Thanks yo.

I would say absolutely not, if anything you are strengthening the muscles in your foot which would be great for your endurance. If you are in doubt, check out spikeydrummer on youtube, he gives lessons on how to practice away from the kit especially pedal technique. Not a lot can compare to working it on real pedals though so don't neglect them from your practice schedule!

It hasn't got the resistance of a pedal on the way down and the feel of the beater so it's only half the job. I guess it's better than nothing but I'd rather play with my pedals than air.
