If the title is trying to get attention, then I'm a little dissappointed with you. If it's a genuine question then no, of course not. I like your previous posts. You've got good skills and loads of feel, I like that. I didn't like this cover though. Way too busy. Your playing detracted from the song. You could have just taken any one of those fills and used one in the song, not all of them. You need to get in a gigging band, fast! Really, go do it now. You'd benefit from the discipline and pull yourself out of the boredom trap your in right now. You've got what it takes to be a great drummer. It's your choices that will dictate the outcome. Good luck on your journey & please, no more adulation seeking post titles!

Nah, drumming's fun. Not many of us will be a Dennis Chambers (one, in fact) so enjoy :)

Was keep it simple quoting the film Never back down then?
Anyway I agree with him, this is obviously a call for attention. You know you shouldn't quit, you have skill. Keep it up.

No kidding. Considering that you were ostensibly just trying to kill some time and have fun drumming, there's nothing wrong with playing around with all sorts of fills and grooves during a cover, but in any actual musical situation that would have been a disaster. It's possible to revamp the feel of a song by doing something diametrically different than what would be traditionally played, but the way you handled the cover absolutely killed the feel of the piece. Laying flashy fill after flashy fill removes the impact and drama than any individual moment could have. Once again, though, since you seem to have just been trying to have fun, there's nothing strictly wrong with what you were up to. Your chops are good—better than mine, at least. Sometimes we all like to just fool around and show off a little bit.

OH YEAH i was definitely REALLY REALLY bored in these videos...
If you look at my other videos with my band, you don't see the over-playing i do in that video...
Recently my band mates moved up to UC Los Angeles and UC Long Beach...and im stuck here in San Diego State... They are about 2 hours away. I no longer have a band to play with.. so i get really bored playing with covers.
Lately ive been trying to network with people to get a band started. SO i am trying to get back on that again.
But i swear it just gets boring being by yourself, when its hard to find good, humble musicians that you can work with and create great music...

yah i completely agree with you there. finding a band is more than just looking for people that can play guitar and sing its also about finding musicians. there is a difference and when musicians do come along its worth the wait. i'm in the same exact spot you're in now. my band broke up b/c all of us went to different colleges and its a struggle to find good humble musicians you can write music with. (as you stated before).

if you can ask yourself " do i love music and playing drums" and answer yes to it, you should never quit.
i feel for you in looking for good band mates. i went more the playing for an already defined leader(musical director/artist ect) to avoid that kind of thing. im sure you'll find a good band thats a good fit for you. might just take some time. if you're out there trying to make it happen, it will happen for you.

Should I Quit?
ARE YOU SERIOUS? OF COURSE YOU SHOULD!...
just kidden'. Beside the uncertainty you displayed during the very beginning progressions, the first minute you should be proud, second was too loud, third was a turd if this was meant as an audition. I do the same thing man, those times when it just feels good to hit somthin' hard. Pretty good chops though, use em' with discretion and someday somebody might see ya' on stage.
