We made some live recordings last weekend that sound decent, check them out! These 4 songs are still in the pre demo phase but i think they are coming along well. I think each one is quite different from the next, and i really like that about this band. Its really easy for black/death metal to blur together.,.anyway, thanks for listening

A whole new world to me. Your stuff does nothing for my soul but I'm fascinated by the skill and stamina necessary to carry off the drum parts. Your playing is polar opposite to my style, I like that!

yeah black metal is...well, difficult for most people to understand because it deals with forces that are not of this earth, to say the least. There is a clear ideology for the genre and that ideology threatens the established order so most people just write it off as being largely meaningless cathartic expressions made by a small number of depressed, arrogant, self-destructive, misguided souls...The genre will never get much respect because it is innately elitist, its only for the strongest, the most dedicated and focused individuals. For that reason it will never be popular and it will continue to exist only on the fringes of musical extremity.

however...this does not mean that black metal is devoid of any musical contribution to the world at large.

like you mentioned, black metal works in the polar opposite of the normal avantgarde perception of music...in that it exists solely to affect the mental state of the listener with its ambiance, not to show musical mastery or skill...the point of the blast beat is not to show how fast one can play or their endurance...it is merely a means to an end, not controlled chaos, but a weapon in creating a deliberate atmosphere and vibe ...That sort of musical approach has not really been utilized much in this century since as it has largely fallen out of favor. In one way or another, true raw black metal seeks to punish the listener's mental state into submission...Obviously most people shy away from that kind of thing automatically.

as a side note...One of my favorite bands is Weakling, a largely unknown band that combined the chaotic despair of early Burzum with the epic compositions of Opeth with strong minimalistic influences from 20th century composers such as Steve Reich...I promise you, their one and only album WILL affect your mental state if you're willing to allow it...it is a masterpeice!

Hey, this is pretty good stuff! Any plans to get a vocalist and set down some vox? I'd be curious to hear this with vocals.

What did you record with? A Fostex type deal?

Thanks! Yeah right now the two guitarists are doing vocals, as you can hear on the tracks By the Throne and Cursed Bunny hahaha...the other songs still need lyrics.

We recorded this with some sort of audio/computer interface thing. I dont know exactly what it's called but i'll ask next time around. We mic'd up the guitar cabs, threw an sm57 on the snare, ran the kick triggers into the interface, and set up a few room mics and recorded live. Its pretty rough but i liked the raw feel of live recording, i think its how we'll end up doing our first real demo...i'll post that on here when its ready, we still have a lot of work to do.

There's a recently uploaded a version of our song By the Throne with a better vocal mix on our Imeem page. Also Cursed has vocals.
