This is our first and only live performance. We are five 30/40 somethings with families and day jobs who decided to put on a show for our families and friends on Labor Day. This is our Megadeth Tornado of Souls Cover, Enjoy

You guys are really good, tight - checked out a few of your other songs, very nice - those DWs sound nice. Give it about another 10 years or so before you get your old fart status, ain't happenin' yet.

Your singer is good sounding like the original artists. Good to see someone playing the oldschool/pre-80's Judas Priest songs.

Not my sort of stuff either although I'm a rock player but that was a good performance. The kit sounded sweet and your playing was relaxed & tight. Great to see a player gaining power from technique instead of hitting the crap out of the kit!

As for old farts, I'm sorry but you're a generation away. You all look way too young in your "pretending to be youthful & sporty" shorts & trainers!

Quite partial to a bit of 80's metal myself (saved me from the Culture Club's, Thompson Twins' and Spandau Ballet's of that decade...no offense to fans anywhere!!!). Enjoyed that and like others here was prompted to view a few more.

Add my name to the 'very tight' and 'great sounding dee-dubs' lists. +1 on the "power derived from technique" call too!

Thanks for the comments guys, I've been playing metal since I was a teenager back in the eighties. I'm 42 now and have only recently been lucky enough to find some other kindred spirits who still want to exercise their chops playing the music of our youth. As for my kit, I stumbled onto a tiny Gretsch kit (8", 10", 14", 20") in 1988 and have never played anything much bigger since. I occasionally play a 10", 12", 14" or 16' if I'm playing a different type of music. I found that the smaller drums cut better through a loud mix of guitar and vocals and their compact size makes them much easier to transport. I can fit my whole kit, with the rack, into my car. I generally don't play a 16" FT on the left, but was just wanting to try something different that day.

The kit I played at the show was:

DW Collector’s Series Hybrid (Finish Ply Silver Sparkle)
7 X 8, VLT Tom (Batter: Clear G-Plus, Resonant: EC Reso)
7 X 10, VLT Tom (Batter: Clear G-Plus, Resonant: EC Reso
10 X 14, X-Shell Floor Tom (Batter: Clear G-Plus, Resonant: EC Reso)
10 X 16, X-Shell Floor Tom (Batter: Clear G-Plus, Resonant: EC Reso)
18 X 20, X-Shell Bass Drum (Batter: Clear EQ-3, Resonant: Smooth White EQ-3, Small DW Pillow, Internally Mounted Kelly Shu w/May AKG: D-112)
5.5 X 13 Craviotto Unlimited Maple Snare Drum (Batter: Coated G-Plus, Resonant: Hazy 300)
5.5 X 13 DW Collector's Series Aluminum Snare Drum (Batter: Coated G-Plus, Resonant: Hazy 300)

Zildjian A & K Custom
8” A Custom Splash
12” & 13” A Custom Mastersound hi-hats

Superb sizes for driving rock! Don't believe you have to have a kick the size of a small planet to drive that sound. I use a 20" kick and a piccollo snare for rock. Both can cut the head off the bar staff!

GREAT JOB!

I'm one of the biggest Megadeth fanboys you'll ever meet, so I might just be bias but damn. Great. Your other songs are great also. I loved Creeping Death, Refuse/Resist...

It's amazing you were able to play that well without long hair, tattoos, and black t-shirts.
