Convert 12x9 Tom into snare

I have a Pacific CX Silver Sparkle 12x9 tom with an STM mount, and I am thinking about converting it into a snare drum. I want to keep the STM mount, add a Trick throw-off, a die cast butt plate and some puresound wires along with a snare side rim. Think it will sound good and what do you think? I will probably use it as my main snare, with my Pacific maple 10x6 popcorn snare as a side snare.

You will need to find someone to cut the snare bed on the reso bearing edge.

Not too sure about using a 9" deep snare, but give it a shot and let us know how it goes!
