Have you tried all the pedals? It's a highly individual choice, and none of the pedals you mention can be failed in terms of quality... It's really a matter of opinion and personal taste, which is something we can't really help you much with...

If you cannot try before you buy, go for the Eliminator. It has the most adjustments, so it will be easier to find a setting that works best for you.

Between the three pedals, I say get the Pearl eliminator P2002B. Better feel, more adjustments.

or:

"Its easier to get the Pearl feeling better than the DW(s)."

'The Pearl can be made to feel better than the DW's a lot easier."

"You can make the Pearl feel better than the DWs soooo much easier."

"Dude, its cake getting the Pearls to feel sweeter than the DW's."

Yes, beater angle can be adjusted on the DW 5002 pedals. That's also just one of many adjustments that are avaliable on the Pearl Elimantor pedals.

Hi, Randy and welcome to the forum.

It sounds like you don't have the ability to try a few different brands out, so just go jump in and do it. You seem to be inclined to get the DW 5000 series double pedal. This is a pedal that helped build the DW brand. So many pro's use it, even today with the 9000 series out there. Just get the 5000. You won't be making any kind of huge mistake. The Pearl is also a very popular brand and you won't make a mistake buying it either. The point is, get whatever you feel you want as they are both top drawer equipment and you can't really be too off the mark. All of us, I think, have at some point purchased something without trying it first. No big deal. You will love any of these pedals. Joey

Outside the USA I would get Pearl without hesitation. Pearl has better spare parts service. Fast playing eats up DW spring rocker bearings so instantly buy spare bearings if you go DW.

being on a fixed income, I wanted to try a double pedal, if you had to get something cheap, what would be the best, or are all the cheaper ones pretty much the same, or would it be better to buy a good used one at a cheaper price, or the same as a cheaper one new? Thks, take care.

Definitely go for the used. You could get a real nice pedal for real cheap. Go to a used shop and try them all out. I saw a used Axis ($600 new)for $200.

Speaking of Axis, if you're thinking about an Axis pedal, better jump now, Axis is raising their prices its been 3 years already.

Also... the new Axis pedal will make its debut at the NAMM show, it might get put-up on their web site before NAMM so keep checking. Expect independent foot board angle adjustment, a new foot board design, new bottom plate and some other goodies supposedly 'retrofittable' for devotees.
