Well, I currently use Evans G2 clear, and Evans EMAD on the BD. I like the emperors, but the Evans' feels more powerful to me.

You have the old type of mounting system, with the black matt finish? anyone know when they started shipping the kits with the new type?

Beautiful kit. I have a "take it or leave it" attitude toward sparkle finishes, and that's certainly a keeper!
The only thing I don't like is that Tama included the UGLY beige logo on the kick reso. It's not attractive at all and just gives the whole kit a dirty brown "smoky" look. If it were me, I'd rid myself of that head asap.
Nice pics and kit! I love the SCPs. They have a tighter sound than the maples. Never understood why the maples had to cost so much more, other than Tama could get away with it.

I also prefer the birch shells. They have a tight, warm sound that cuts through!

Man, I absolutely adore Starclassics ... and yours is no exception !
That sparkle finish looks great, just like the setup.
