What do you use for mounting your laptop running loops, etc.? do you just set it on a music stand, build a stand, or is there some product that can attach a laptop to a cymbal stand or something like that? What do you know?

I just use an old throne, works perfect. No money spent or mods needed.

I know thats not what you wanted to hear. Sorry lol.

Gibraltar do some purpose made laptop/electonic/percussion tables that attach to cymbal stands. You could just use any small table though.

YEah... gibraltar makes a really nice laptop stand... i haven't used one before but i saw pics of it the other day... if you're willing to pay a few bucks for a sturdy stand that is totally the way to go.

Using a televison plate (the plates you use on the wall) screwed on a mic stand.

Or Im using my flightcase.

Even better is a small keyboard (apple like) a small screen (trough vga) and a small mouse on a plate in a flightcase so you can leave the laptop closed in a 1HE drawer.

ooh

I want one of those.

How do the Gibraltar stands work in practice? How is the laptop held down?

I used a the top of a cheap wood folding table from Wal Mart and mounted it on a tom mount clamp. Sprayed it black and it looks like it was meant to be there!
