Sexy kit man! Give us more pictures and specs. I assume the left floortom is indeed a floortom, or is it one of those nifty ballad snares DW came up with?

Very nice kit man.

Can you tell me... in the states is it common to see drummers with DW kits? Cause over here in England I've only ever seen one player with a DW and that's only cause he owns a drum shop. It's very very uncommon to see them.

Also did you buy it in a shop or have it made n designed for you?

Thanks

I don't think they are any more or less common than other high-end drum kits. They are available in some "standard" configurations at many music stores but mine were designed by me and ordered from the factory through a local retailer. Generally, the wait for a new kit is 3-5 months. I read lots of chatter on this site about how overpriced they are but if you stick to a finish-ply or satin oil finish they're really quite reasonable. The standard pricing for DW drums in the U.S. is %60 of the MSRP. I read both Rhythm and Drummer and see that they are considerable more expensive in the UK. Happy drumming.

I used to work at a functions bar and I saw a couple of DW kits in bands. One was a £4 grand custom order though. The drummer was a rich dick though. He was about 4-5 years older than me and when I told him I was a drummer he was like "keep at it kid" ..."I'm 20!"

The floortoms are really short! Why do you choose this "style"?

Sebob, Yes, they are shorter than your standard floor toms, 10X14 and 10X16 to be exact. I have played smaller and shorter drums since 1989 and all of the kits I have built since then have had other than standard sizing. I currently own two DW kits in the same Silver Sparkle Finish Ply and often mix and match them depending on the gig. One is a "Short Stack" kit with 5x10, 6X12, 10X16, 14X20 BD and the other 7X8, 7X10, 10X14, 18X20 BD. I prefer the stability of a floor tom as opposed to a hanging tom. As for the depths, they are much easier to schlep around and I can't discern any compromise in projection or sustain.

It's really a PDP rack except for the plastic level on the front. Exactly the same as the DW except for the logos and price. It's about $100 cheaper and you get the side pieces and additional clamps.
