That was amazing dude! Really, really great rock music. With some good promotion, you guys could go far! The song's really well written and has a great structure. I wish you the best of luck with your band.

Ive got two younger brothers who have just started playing keyboards and guitar. Hope they pick it up quick so we can start playing :)

Good band. Great voice!

First things first, that's a very impressive effort. Quite superb vocals, good strong song & nice dynamics within the arrangement. Your drumming was excellent for the most part but I do think the double kick / kick - tom routine (I don't know which of the two you're using) in the chorus section (1:25 - 1:31 & repeats) detracts from the groove. My advice when going for the final recording is to simplify the drum part in the chorus. Less complication actually increases the power of this type of material. If you want to maintain a slight skip feel in that section, try using one or two well placed 16ths on the kick. Just as the vocal works really well because of the contrast between melodic and full rock voice sections, the same applies to the drum part. I wish you well. With the right guidance during the recording and production stages, I think you've got a really good chance of success. Go for it brothers!!

thank you for the suggestion "keep it simple",you may be right, so we are going to discuss this drum part again with the band. I 'll try it.thanks

Great song! Your singer has that range of the what sells in rock. As far as the drums, less is more. This song needs to be driven hard and straight forward with simple fills. Your drumming, is very solid. Just drive it harder!

How can I drive it harder? should I put off the ghost notes in the chorus section to make the groove heavier? I also think, these small sized jazz drums don't help me a lot to come out with a powerful rock sound...
Thanks

I think Sirwill just means simplify things a bit. That will automatically give more drive to the song. I'd keep the ghost notes, just slightly simplify the chorus kick work as I suggested in my thread below.

Don't worry about your drum sizes. They're great! I use smaller size drums and I play rock. I have had this setup for more than 25 years and no problems with hard driving rock. You'll find the smaller sizes are far better in the studio than bigger sizes. Much better control and you can get a really powerful kit sound by extending the subsonics. Your engineer can work wonders with your kit. Don't worry about it. A good engineer will record your drums as flat as possible (very little EQ). They won't sound great at first but the sound will pull together in the mix down. Have fun!

Yes, use less ghost notes and more floor tom for fills. Your drum sizes are fine, maybe tune them down a bit. Also, the song would drive harder if the tempo were slowed/dragged down just a half beat or so. Just my opinion on an already great song.

Excellent song, good work!

I love how in the break at around 4:09 you can clearly see that noone is sitting behind the drum kit, even though there was someone there in the previous shot. I'm guessing you took turns filming eachother? :-)

Your drumming was excellent for the most part but I do think the double kick / kick - tom routine (I don't know which of the two you're using) in the chorus section (1:25 - 1:31 & repeats) detracts from the groove.

I can't hear double kick or toms in the section you mention, but there are some fairly loud ghost notes there that could definitely be a bit quieter. Are you sure that's not what you're hearing? I suspect that's more of a mic and mixing issue though...?

We first recorded the drums, guitar and bass all together and then we recorded separately the keys, the guitar solo, and the voice. So that's the reason you can clearly see that noone is sitting behind the drum kit in 4:09 ! :-)

yes, recording and mixing is completely amateur..The ghost notes aren't that loud if you here them live.

I m glad you liked it
thanks

Great song, great drumming. I would also cut the ghost notes on the snare - it would make the chorus more powerful.
