Hi all...

Probably this has been discussed here many times before, but still, i couldnt find any post using the search option, so...

Im looking for a freeware PC application that would allow me to type in a certain drum notation, like from a Modern Drummer collumn, and then hear it been played back.

Im very bad at reading notation, and i think that would be a good way to check if my reading was correct.

Basically, im looking for a software like Finale, where i could input drum notation easily and have it played back. I Googled A LOT, but couldnt find any software that was specific for drums. I did found many similar to Finale and Music Notation, but none that was simpler, freeware and drums specific.

Any help?

THANKS! And peace to you all!

I haven't used this one yet but I am thinking i might get it soon...
Tab Trax 2112design.com (http://2112design.com/)
This app lets you build drum grooves with standard drum notation, import and export drum tabs from the internet that will be translated into standard notation, puts in the counting for you, and even works with midi synthesizers. you can also put in wav files and compose drum tracks to play alongside them...
The ability to write in standard drum notation makes that application look way easier to compose grooves on the computer then most of the midi composer apps i've use before.

BTW: If anyone else has any experience with this application let me know because i don't want to waste $30 and find out it sucks... especially let me know if you've used with a drum module (i have a dmpro i'd use it with).

EDIT: okay i just tried the demo of this thing... wow... so cool. I will totally be buying this... definately worth the $30... I was able to chart out the groove for one of my bands songs in like 30 seconds once i figured out how to use it. this is something that would have taken me like 5 minutes in my midi composer app... you can print charts with this too!

I like this one also. Is the grey color supposed to be like a ghost note or something? Or the black an accent?

I don't think they have a PC version but I do stuff like this in Garage Band. Not much help I suppose, but incase someone else is reading this.

There's another thread from 2 weeks ago that's about the same thing.
