Picked up a used kit today. It's a yellow oyster pearl wrapped Gretsch Renown Maple. Sizes are 7"x8", 8"x10", 10"x12", and 14"x14" toms with 22"x18" bass drum. Came with a Gretsch free floating 5 1/2"x14" snare. Sounds beautiful.
Other gear I already had:
6" Zil-Bel
8" A Fast Splash
13" A Quick Beat Hats
18" A Rock Crash
22" A Custom Ping Ride
18" ZBT Crash/Ride
Pearl Cowbell
Pearl 3"x13" Piccolo snare
DW 5002 Pedals

Sorry for the lackluster pictures, the lighting isn't the greatest in my basement. It's a shame because the color really pops in the sun.

Beautiful finish!

Renown Maple is a great shellpack - awesome drums man. Renowns have been around since the 30's - Great Gretsch recipe.............

Great choice.

I haven't gotten a chance to take some picture in the sunlight, but here are a couple more. It is pretty green looking, I'd call it a green oyster before a yellow. Also in a different set up.

Shiny! How do you like your Zil-bel? It was too clangy for my taste.

I don't think it is too clangy, but I don't use it very often. I like to end a heavy tom fill with it, cuts right through with a great contrast.

hey Narwhal, you've picked yourself up a GREAT buy!! i have a drum kit EXACTLY the same. for best sounds, use Evans Emad batter kick drum skin, all the toms with Evans Genera G2 skins on the batter, and Evans Genera G1 skins on the resonant. and on the snare, an Evans Genera G2. that's the best advice i can give you about skins. they sound MAGIC on mine. the kick drum is such a fat sound. so punchy. also, you may not know this, but there were only 100 drum kits in that colour made ever, worldwide. it came in Yellow Oyster, and Turquoise Oyster. Yellow Oyster is far better looking. there is 100 Yellow Oyster and 100 Turquoise Oyster. well, that is to my understanding. or maybe it is 50 of each. also, i do not have the 8" tom. and it looks like you don't have the Snare Drum that comes in the same colour. which is a shame. you're really missing out on A LOT it sounds BEAUTIFUL. so loud and it just cuts through with a perfect *CRACK*. and also, the kit isn't quite complete without it. another thing, as i was saying, mine didn't come with a 8" tom. though i did get a 14"x16" floor tom customly made for it, for $1100 AUD that is!!! they told me that it was "the last of that colour and they had just enough left for that one drum" i couldn't be happier with the drum kit. on it i either use my Zildjian A Customs, or my Sabian Neil Peart Paragon's. by the way, my dad is a drum collecter. that's why i've got all this nice stuff. i'll post some pictures of my Yellow Oysters soon and maybe of a few other kits i've got sitting upstairs. :D

Hey Jack,

Thanks for the compliments. I was told by the guy I bought the set from that mine is actually half of a monster kit. Him and a friend split the kit. The other guy has a matching bass drum, a rack tom (unsure of the size) and a 16 x 16 floor tom. He also has the matching snare. He said he'll let me know if it ever goes up for sale.
