French grip on Hi-Hat

I noticed many seasoned drummers use French grip on the HH. I'm wondering if it's because it's more economical to use fingers (i.e. smaller muscle group) instead of the wrist to play fast.

Do you use French grip or German grip on HH?

I find that I mostly use French grip on the HH.
It just seems that I can pump out more finger control and dips with French grip on the HH.
Seems just natural to me.

i generally use french grip after watching jojo, and it works for me.
the faster i play the more outright my arm gets, and the further from my body it gets.

If you bring your arm across your body, the natural angle for the wrist becomes French grip, and German in front of you on the snare, and back to French as you go out to the floor tom. At least that's what my arms like to do, so I go with that.
