it's probably not a bad idea to work out your legs, but drumming stamina comes from playing the drums. and if you're thinking about increasing your double bass stamina, the best thing you can do is improve your technique. i've found that the better my technique gets, the longer i can play fast with less effort. that applies to single bass too, as well as the hands.

I'm not sure I agree with the stamina idea. It's just my opinion but I think you can work on stamina in many different ways. Regardless, go through your regurlar practice routine using your other foot, whichever one that may be and ride a bicycle.

I've been in music stores watching young kids whip off quick singles with a double pedal, but then I've asked them just to play a beat with just their right foot--for right handers--which they did. Then I asked them to do the same beat with their left. Never has a kid been able to do it. Again just my opinion, but I'd put coordination before speed. Of course I'm assuming your question is about speed and stamina since without speed, stamina is seldom an issue.

There's also a good clip on youtube by one of the metal drummers about trading off 4's, 8's, 12's and 16's with your feet. Good stamina exercise. I'm sure someone here know's who the clip is by.
