Hi, take a look at this cymbal demo:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOhVqVhD3w0
at the 36-39 second mark there's a repeat phrase between cymbal and snare - sort of a triplet figure. What is it and how do you play it? I know loads of you out there will have the answer. Thanks very much!!!!

It sounds to me like 32nd notes in groups of 6, with the sticking being RLrrllRLrrll for the majority of it.

Pretty wicked lick.
I quickly watched it in slow-motion and I agree with Brittc89 about it being RLrrllRLrrll. Right hand accent on crash with bass drum underneath, the rest on the snare (just in case you couldn't tell lol.)

I agree with Brittc89; RLRRLL RLRRLL repeat...,beginning with the cymbal crash on one.
If you like this lick check out Richard Baily's drumming with Jeff Beck on the Blow by Blow album. You'll catch a lot of this and similar on Aur Blower and Freeway Jam. They're on youtube.

I love that 19 inch hybrid crash! It's my fav crash cymbal! I love the bell also! Sorry to go of track a bit, but your question was answered.
Were you looking into that crash ween you saw that lick?

you lucky guys........as a beginner, I was more interested in the beat kicking off at 45secs to the end.
I was over the moon at getting that down...:)

Thanks for the help everyone. As for the cymbal, I own one (and love it). I'm looking for a crash to go with it and was listening to things on youtube when I found the clip. Chers.
