Just a note that uploaded now is a better version for sound which makes the drums and cymbals more "room friendly" for the compressed file needed to fit YouTube standards.

High res file for this one tune sitting on my computer is 175mb's. The previous final production video clip {before compressed for YouTube} for "Thank You Hank Jones" I posted is 260mb's!

Here's a few pics by GMontgomery from the same evening of the two YouTube video clip performances.

Oooooh Stan!

What to say about this? Well...this was truly awesome!! Simply bodacious music...and yeah, you listen to the great Tony a lot?
At some spots the comping ideas get pushed by this huge amount of testosterone...just à la mode Mr. WIlliams.

Such an intense performance...

By the way, your Agops sound so great as well! Even though I`m not the huge china cymbal fan I love the sound of this one in the musical context!

Thanks Karl for the kind words!

From a gentle stirring {and swinging} breeze to full STEAM ahead indeed :} Just me being me with all the stuff i've ever hear around me that makes me {musically} tick.

Yes that super thin 20" Traditional China Pang is the "bomb" my friend in the musical mix.....

Many thanks Gruntersdad and that's my Istanbul Agop 06 LE Jazz Bell ride that I added the 6 rivets to that you dig. Glad you liked the sounds of the group :}

My bowing continues..

Very tasteful playing, Stan. To groove the pulse so beautifully through so much syncopation & while adding so much color is quite a feat!

The pies sound great, unsurprisingly.

I noticed you changing grips. Is that something you do often ( I do ), and why do you think you do it?

Thanks Abe. Your nice compliments are much appreciated my friend on this thread and in regards to the other recent clip I posted.

Good question on the grip change. It's just something natural i've always done based on going for a certain effect for sound and feel the suits either grip on the spot for ideas well playing the drums within the music or without in the context of solo ideas and playing. Might be the same deal for you too.

Nice Stan. You really orchestrate those dynamics. Your making music happen!!! When I hear music like this, there is just no turning back.

Since your last clip, I am working on selling some cymbals. I think you know why.

That's the same Peace jazz setup i'll be using for some upcoming jazz fest concerts but with some cymbal rotations for different groups with either my 22" Epoch ride on the far right or the 20" China Pang as you heard in the clip. The 20" SE jazz ride will be on left as seen in the clip or my 20" Traditional Sizzle depending on the setting at hand.

Also added 15" OM hats recently into the mix which i'll use for every show just like my 22" 6 rivet 06 LE in the main position played on the clip.
