View Full Version : Soloing with Logic effects on my SQ2 kit!
Hi there,
yesterday I made a video with my new Macbook and Logic. The idea was to combine classic soloing and and some kind of house feel.
Here it is, have fun!

Did you use a trigger on the sidesnare for the MIDI event live? That's how I'd imagine you'd do it, although I can think of other ways.
Pretty cool! Lovely drums. If my assumption about the MIDI trigger is correct though, I can hear some cross talking and false triggering going on - but it's all good.
Actually I just watched it again. Seems like you're not using a MIDI trigger, but a gate threshold instead. Nice way around of doing it, but with the hi-hat mic bleed, it's going over the gain threshold.

Thanks a lot! I am a total Logic beginner and this little piece was my first experiment with that program, a Presonus interface and some mics. I played around with some of the effects in realtime so I already heard them while I played. There is almost no latency but some crosstalking. So I did not use any triggers and there is no MIDI involved.

Great playing and creativity. I really liked the stuff you were doing in the first half. Re: the cross bleeding, I thought it actually sounded cool that you got some "lighter" effects from using other pieces of the kit. It added some presentation to the solo as a whole as opposed to just having an effect on one component. Again, great playing!
