So a friend of mine lend me his Yamaha Remote Hi hat *Japanese model*. He is selling it to me. It works good but it somewhat lags. It hasn't been used for a couple of years. But it works...he either wants $50 or an exchange of an X-hi hat.

I was looking at some X hats on ebay and I won a Gibraltar for $20! It seems like fun and compact!

Now I don't know if the remote is better or the x hat. Both have there pros and cons....

From your experiences what do you think I should stay with?!

.... wait till you get the X-Hat, then decide.

That's what I'd do. I think you'll experience a little lag with a remote just from the length of the cable. The main question you have to ask yourself is are you wanting a hi-hat in a different location that you can open and close or one to leave closed.

if im not mistaken... remote hat is a hihat with a wire so you can put it on the opposite side of the kit (for example) and it can serve as an X hat... so it's kinda like 2 in 1...so why don't you get the x hat, then exchange it for the remote... it's cheaper and you get more

you could even add a drop clutch to it so it funcions as an x hat with the ability to automaticallly switch to a remote
