Because of my hectic schedule I do not have a steady gig as drummer for a band but I do a lot of fill in work for other drummers. As a result I play a wide variety of music and often times I'm limited to what I know of a band by listening to MP3 files of their music. So I'm accustomed to sitting down behind my kit with my headphones and my IPod to play along with and learn music but I'm looking for a better option.
What suggestions do you have for recording, playing and practicing music using an MP3 format? I would like to pause the music, repeat sections when necessary with great sound quality that I can plug my phones into. I would love to hear what you guys are using.
