Well I'm thinking about getting the Roland SPDS for a number of reasons but I have a few questions before I blow $500 on this thing...

I'm going to be mainly using it to play an acapella track of 2 songs for a talent show at school because as of now my singer has quit the band and the show is in 2 weeks! There is no time to find a replacement and I was already thinking of getting it for its' other features.

So, what is the largest audio size that can be uploaded (song length wise)? We aren't playing Achilles Last Stand or anything but the average song we play is about 5-6 minutes.

What is the method of transferring audio files to the machine? Is it by usb? SD card?

Can a pad/sound be triggered by a kick pedal trigger by a different brand?

Will a snare drum trigger be able to work in conjunction with this?

What is the difference between the SPD-S and the SPD-20? Is it only that the SPD-20 has more programmed sounds and no uploading ability?

Thanks in advance! I know that you guys can assault me with information before tomorrow to help me make an educated decision.

The SPD-S is a sampler. The SPD-20 is not. SPD-S uses CompactFlash cards for memory storage. 512 MB, being the largest card it will accept. You can trigger SPD-S with other brands. Check out the Roland site for more detailed info.
