Ive been searching for a 16 x 16 floor tom for my Renowns with no luck but just bought this new Catalina Maple for 85.00 plus shipping.

Good find, GD. I hope it matches your Renowns, both in appearance and sound. OK, maybe blend with the sound. If they could be matched by Catalinas, then they wouldn't be Renowns now would they?

Its not as dark in color as the Renown but I can live with it for 85.00 I'm guessing with the same heads I will get it close in sound.

I know what it's like trying to find add on drums and the color you have just doesn't seen to be selling. I guess that's because what we have is the best. All of the ugly colors seem to be selling. Lol. I scored a 16x13 floor tom for my superstars for 90 bucks. I couldnt resist. So now i have 16x16 and 16x13 floor toms. The three inches in depth does make a difference.
