Hello.
I was playing my new Yamaha Gigmaster kit today and i noticed a small ring on the floor, right underneath the bass pedal.
I can't figure out where it belongs.
Can someone help?
Picture is attached below.
Thanks in advance!

If that fell off, that means a bolt or screw fell off first. There are a few places this could be from: pedal hinge, foot plate attachment, axle. Look at the pedal for missing screws, anything loose or wobbly.

Once you figure out what's missing, look for the bolt or screw or take the pedal to a hardware store and find one to replace it. Pedals use standard sizes for nuts and bolts. Don't stress out, this is easy to fix.

You should inspect, tighten, clean and oil your pedal every six months or sooner. You don't want your axle to come out in the middle of a gig in a dark club - you are lucky you found this when you did. You should keep a few extra pieces like this with you when you play out and a few basic tools.

It also could be from off the resonant side from your floor tom or snare.

Still couldnt figure out where it goes.
Nothing is missing from the snare, floor tom or pedal...

Maybe someone here with a similar kit would be able to help?

From where you are sitting behind the drum which side did you find it on the left or the right?

Neither, it was underneath the bass pedal.

What pedal are you using? Was it a pedal that came with your drum set when you bought or was it a brand name pedal that didn't come with your drum set that you bought? (I.E. like the tama iron cobra)

It came with the drumset.
It's a yamaha gigmaster kit.
I'm emailing yamaha with the picture of the ring.
That would be my best bet...

Well the ring is a washer. It goes on a bolt, under a nut. I would look at the tightening screw that holds either the pedal to the bass drum rim, or maybe a nut that allows the footplate to be adjusted. Was it under the pedal, and how long has it been since you moved the pedal???

Like Gruntersdad said I think it might be a washer from the screw or wing nut that attaches the pedal to the bass drum, so check to see if you have a washer on the wing nut screw. If it does have a washer on it than maybe it was a extra part that came with your set that you didn't see until now that dropped or something when you were putting it together. It depends on how recently you put together your set, if it was more recent than it might be a more likely that it is a left over part, that you haven't seen until now. When I was putting together my kit I had some extra screws and washers left over.

iv played it by guessing, so i put it beneath the tightening screw that holds the pedal to the bass drum rim.
Most likely, it looks like this is where it belongs.
thanks for the help guys.
Appreciated.

Well as said above, it is a washer, it would have come from under a nut or a screw, so somewahere you have one of those missing.

Could it have rolled there from elsewhere in the room, i.e. someone tinkering with something else non-drum-related?

If it was a new kit, like you say, it could have just been a spare washer that had made its way in with your pedal.
