Pearl Quad Beater

I have recently had a Pearl quad beater break in two on me while playing. It broke about a third of the way up the shaft, well above where it mounts in the pedal. Has anyone ever had this happen to them?

I just removed them and put IC beaters in a few months ago.

Yes, I actually have had that happen. Fortunately it wasn't in the middle of Rock And Roll part 2...

I figure that although the shafts may be a bit weak on the quad beaters, they last a pretty reasonable amount of time. That said, I'm always looking for new beaters to try.

How long/intensely are they used before they break?

I have worn the narrow felt side out, and I do kick harder vs just super speed all the time.

Some of the beaters I have are titanium, but I am better pearl uses some cheaper metal.
