It's a great pedal. It will definitely allow you to explore more options by exerting less energy. I'ld say go for it. It may be time for you to move to the next level.

Maybe not the best pedal on the market but in the top 3. I've owned one for over a year and its never let me down. It looks and works like its brand new. If I want to improve it I change to the wood or rubber type beater.

Which one are you looking at? Rolling glide or power glide? The power glide is great for heavy footed playing, whereas the rolling version has a smoother feel. The slide technique works on both pedals (all the pedals in the world, actually), but they do feel different. It'd be best if you tried the pedals before buying them.

I have a flexi-glide, very smooth and there's a bit less friction. I would have been just as happy with the rolling glide though.

If only they'd make a direct drive IC, I'd make the jump and set my old Tama Camco aside as a spare.

I owned an Iron Cobra single pedal for a good two years. Never failed me. Always smooth and responsive. But for your answer, It would work fine for sliding. Nonetheless, If you buy one, it comes in a nice hard shell case.
