I donno, but it felt proper on a 4-piece.

3 Mic's, different tuning, wood sticks. This was a nice break from bashing a close miked 7-piece with Aheads!

Speaking of "felt," I used a (gasp) felt (gasp) beater!

Not really sure what you were going for there. Not really groovin or boppin in the least, sorry to be harsh, but sometimes stuff just kinda needs to be said. If that was a jazz feel, you need to really work on your coordination as well as you ride cymbal technique. Again, Im not sure if it was supposed to be jazz (I guess boppin makes me think be be-beop), but if it is, make sure it swings and feels natural. Get syncopation by Ted Reed and then go to the thread where people explain how to use it, that should straighten a lot of issues out.
