What, nobody likes Led Zepplin? I know it's because we have a female vocalist.

It doesn't matter that you have a female singer. It matters that your singer can't sing.

The band sounds good though. :)

I typically avoid these posts, but if your getting opinions from people who know what they are talking about and have doing this thing for years... you might want to take a step back and think about what they said before getting all defensive. Everyone you play for may love you, but if thats the only people that do you're not going anywhere. So yeah, constructive criticism isn't always a bad thing.

I think your singer sounds fine, but i would suggest taking criticism a bit better. good job

We're not trying to go anywhere, it's only people like you who need to go somewhere. If everyone we play for loves us then that's all that matters, because people we don't play for won't know what they are missing.

For the record, I find it very difficult for YouTube's highly compressed formats to do much justice to recorded bands. Your hats may be perfect. Your singer may be Joss Stone. It's just hard to tell.

In contrast, it is far easier to detect piss-poor attitudes in a internet forum. Perhaps you should title any future posts of your band like this: "Rock&Roll: please only post adulations as we are listened to by only those who love us." That would certainly keep you from having to endure criticism or question someone's gender.

OK fine your singer is awesome.

You should let a little air in those hi hats, though. LOL

I'm not sure how many people were there but I think I heard about four people clapping.
They heard it live so we'll let that speak for itself.

If that's all that matters, why are you getting upset with the people offering their opinions here?

I thought you guys sounded fine

Yes that's about right, it was the last song of the night and we were playing in Segiun, a small town outside of San Antonio. The bar was a dive and the people we brought had long since left since it was quite a drive. The few people left in the bar were regulars who could care less who was playing.

I'm not getting upset, but there does seem to be a double standard around here.

I've been following this thread, and while I rarely check out songs where the poster puts a link, I became interested enough to check yours out.

As for a double standard, I don't know what you mean, at least as it applies to requesting criticism. I think the people here go out of their way to be nice when criticizing other drummers' work. At worst, they'll say nothing at all, and at best, they'll say something nice or encouraging. I don't think anyone gets different treatment for any reason. But when they do offer negative criticism, don't forget that you asked for opinions - or by simply posting the link, certainly implied that you wanted responses - and you must accept them without being belligerent or defensive. When you put yourself out there, you get what you get. And if you display an attitude, don't be surprised when you get the same in return.

Whitedrummer has been banned here before under two other names, while yet another of his personas is notorious on a second forum. The fact that he was allowed to return would apparently devalue his claim of a double standard.

Oh my goodness, even Matt chimed in, but that doesn't surprise me, only when there is controversy, never for a kind word or two. Good to hear from you, bet you thought I was rushing, I'm proud of my little band, especially that being only our third gig. Thanks for responding.

your band sounds good. but you sound cocky. and you need to get off your pedastool and take criticism a little better. when he said open your hi-hats a little more you didn't have to get all defensive. if you're gonna post something like this you gotta expect everything and take the good with the bad...don't filter everything from what you want to hear and what you dont.

Alias Jusstickinaround, alias MadMax.

Search his legacy here. It's well known. Anyone who has been here more than six months knows the deal.

As for the playing, actually I was going to say that your drumming had gotten better.

You're welcome.
