c)Snare is on 2. 4

Is this a beginning student? If so, I don't approach independence as a separate entity. I usually introduce styles - rock, bossa nova, latin, waltzes, etc... The coordination gained from those styles forms a foundation for coordination.
After a student reaches a certain proficiency, the following books should be helpful:
Rock/Funk
The Drumset Musician by Rod Morgenstein/Rick Mattingly (http://www.steveweissmusic.com/product/1671/drum-set-methods-cd)
New Breed by Gary Chester (http://www.steveweissmusic.com/product/1101763/drum-set-methods-cd)
Jazz Coordination
Jazz Drum Set Independence by Steve Fidyk (http://www.steveweissmusic.com/product/1125511/general-drumset-methods)
Jazz Bible of Coordination by Joel Rothman (http://www.steveweissmusic.com/product/1490/general-drumset-methods)
Latin/Brazillian (as well as funk/fusion)
Advanced Concepts by Kim Plainfield (http://www.steveweissmusic.com/product/2595/drum-set-methods-cd)
