Would you guys say the best way in improve my four way coordination is practicing rudiments with hands and feet? would it be more effective if I did the rudiments, like paradiddles, using my feet and hands at the same time or incorporating feet and hands together(say RH, LF, RF,RH as one example). Also do you think the rudiments will help me put together more drum fills? Lately ive been doing the same fills over and over even why i dont try to. Finally, is there anyway i can make these exercises more fun or give myself a bigger drive to practice them more?
-thanks for the insight, you really have helped me a great deal since i joined this forum :). I Really want to improve on my weak sides.

The best way to improve your four way coordination is to play exercises that have musical value to them. Various Syncopation interpretations are helpful in this regard, so give them a search or two!

The New Breed by Gary Chester is a good book for this sort of stuff, too.

You should look into Thomas Lang's: Creative Coordination and foot technique.

I second the New Breed. That book has done more for my coordination then any other book. Another good book is 4-Way Coordination but I like New Breed better because it's more musical and it's very challenging.

Or you can have a look at Marco Minneman's extreme interdependence. The warmup exercises are pretty good and very rudimental.

Or as my brother and I like to call it: Noob, READ! (Ha!)
Anyway, I studied a LOT out of this book, and aside from some of the latin rythms I've practiced, I don't know that there are many better ways to get limb inTERdependence down!
In fact, I need to go get that book out of my book box, because it is awesome! It's kind of confusing, but if you decide to pick it up and can't figure it out, feel free to send me a PM and I can give a little explanation about how I used it...

I agree. Here are some recommendations from my other post on a similar subject.

Be sure to check out Kim Plainfield's Advanced Concepts (http://www.amazon.com/Advanced-Concepts-Plainfield/dp/0769248004) book/cd for independence exercises in a variety of styles. The section on solo concepts should also help to give you some drum fill ideas.
