I'm pretty sure all the Catalina series drums are made in China. I don't know where the maple comes from, but I would be surprised if it's North American maple that is shipped all the way to China. More likely the maple for this series is harvested in Asia.

Great drums, but as far as I know, also made "over seas".

USA maple shells, assembled overseas.

From the website:
Designed for the touring drummer who requires "That Great Gretsch Sound" the Renown series offers incredible tone by retaining classic Gretsch features. Attributes include USA Rock Maple shells, 30-degree bearing edges, die-cast hoops, GTS suspension systems and Silver Sealer interior finishes. Gretsch Renown projects a warm, distinctively Gretsch sound with an added contemporary punch.

Maple wood from the U.S., however, shells and everything else produced and assembled in Taiwan. That is a good thing in that they do a top level job.
