I've always been curious, I love the sound he manages to get, so I did a little research, but couldn't find the gear he uses, more specifically his hi-hat. So I'm wondering if you guys might know / be able to figure out.
Here's the vid that shows off the hats:

KJ gets a really cool jungle sound with his hats, but I'm not sure how he does it. You could probably send him a message on myspace or whatnot, he might reply. Meinls "Rabb Pack" by Johnny Rabb have some really good hats too if you're doing jungle, which I assume you are. There's a splash cymbal that goes on top of the top hat which you can use to make it sound really trashy or really crisp. Plus you've got a second sound on the hats.
Good luck man.

I just saw an interview KJ Sawka did with his fan site that answered that question...
" What Hi-Hat do you use?
I use a variety of hihats. 10" Wuhan on top of a 10" Zildjian special recording hat. Also, Zildjian 12" quick beat hats and 13" New beat hats. "
He answered other questions about his equipment if your interested..lots of Sawka info..
