View Full Version : Zildjian K dark 19" med-thin crash for a ride?
I was just curious if any of you fellow drummers have ever used a 19" Zildjian K dark med-thin crash for a ride cymbal. I'm trying to decide between buying a 19" K dark thin crash or a med-thin. I was thinking the med-thin might double as a ride. Anyone ever tried this?

The medium-thin was discontinued a couple years ago so you'll have to find one used unless you find some old stock. Not sure how the bell will be. I had a 17" K Dark MT and it didn't have a bell shape that you would normally see on a ride. Now the 19 bell would be bigger but I'm not sure how it will sound.
The thin will be washier than the medium thin.

i like the way you think, outside the box is always more interesting! i say go for it - even if it does'nt work as a ride (and i think the K would just sing!) you'll still end up with a great crash!
good luck ;-)
