I have had this beauty for 6 months, and I personally love it, but there have been complaints, apparently it is too loud!!

Now it is a 'metal' ride so its sposed to be loud, but it has a really nice tone. So, Drummerworld, here are my questions:

1. What would replace it adequately?, recommend me great jazzy sounding rides, preferably sabian as per the rest of the cymbals. as a side question, the paiste 2002's are thin in comparison, so a large 2002 ride is playing on my mind, but is it loud, too?

2. Whats the market rate for a barely used 24" meinl mb20, no actual marks on it, new they are advertised at circa £400.

3. Anyone wanna buy one? ;-)

I don't think you want a jazzy sounding ride if you're considering 2oo2s. Just because it's smaller than that monster you got there doesn't mean it's jazzy.
With the information you provide it's not easy to understand what kind of sound you are looking for.

i just want something with a pure sound on it. On 'the beast' there is a great point before the build up of wash where it just sounds clear with a great round and full tone, not heavy. But once the wash comes in, its game over.

Essentially an all round ride, something i can play softly, or wash. do you reckon i'm being ideallistic? something that fits in with what i play in the band (link in my sig)

Even toying with a flat ride....

btw, you can see the beast at: http://www.drummerworld.com/forums/showthread.php?p=526881#post526881
