Your own signature line

Im not sure if this has been done before, but if you could have your own signature line of cymbals, what mixture of existing cymbals would you include in it?

For example, mine would be

21" Zildjian K custom special dry ride
20" Bosphorus Stanton Moore wide ride
17" Zildjian K dark thin crash
14" 60's Zildjian A hats
10" splash that i dont know of existing yet - like Stanton Moore's trash crash but a splash!

Obviously the cymbals in your line would not all be branded differently, but its just a bit of fun!


EDIT: I've just realized that this is like exactly the same as "your dream cymbal set up" type threads... so to make it different, what would you call your signature cymbals, and which company would it be with?

i woud make a new line called J custom line from zildjian

I'd make one like the old Zildjians used to be. Medium high profile with a flatter bell, hand hammered but more symmetrical, medium thin in the middle with a taper to a thin edge. Nice medium sound with enough ping, wash, and tone to work for any style. I wouldn't care what brand sponsored it though.

Wow, I couldn't have said it any better. I would narrow down the scope of "old Zildjians" to the late 1950s. Plus, I would have a slightly mellower version of the 24" K Light Ride in my series. I have no idea what I would call my signature series, though. Maybe "Zildjian PB+J"??? I think I'm going to go eat a PB+J right now...

I'd have a set up of..

all would have Crow Apollyon (then the name of the cymbal) lol.

14" hihats (probly with sound liek X-celerators from sabian or atleast have a good shh sound)
16" crash (sound like either a metal-X or a meinl byzance)
18" crash (has a jazz like sound that ends after a few seconds)
19" crash (that sounds like a 19" AAXplosion crash)
21" ride (mega bell)
22" ride (sound like the 21" HH rock ride)
16" china (sounds like the meinl filter china but not as thin)
18" china (Sound like either a Metal-X or AA)
17" china (that sounds like the prototype china chris adler uses)
8" splash (dont really know, never had a splash)
10" splash (again...lol)
14" hihats (sound like chris adlers, which is sound caster custom on top and some dark meinl on bottom)


be with Sabian or Saluda.
