The Koa Rogers

If I had been playing drums 30 years ago and wanted to buy a kit, it would be a Rogers, hands down! Their Swiv-O-Matic hardware is way better than anything else that the other drum companies had at the time (who else can you name that had a ball-and-socket tom holder?!), so much so that drummers like Ginger Baker and Keith Moon had their kits fortified with Rogers tom mounts, even though they played other brands. Yet I digress...!
The koa finish is my favorite that I have ever seen on a Rogers kit, and the Fiberskyn head on the 13 inch tom complements the color of the wood very well ( I would suggest outfitting the entire kit with them, but that's just my opinion). Enjoy your new tubs!

I havn't had a chance to give them a test drive, but I will. I asked my girlfriend if I could keep The Mapex along with the Rogers because they both have different qualities I like. I told her the Mapex has that modern sound that I want at times and the hardware is phenominal, but the Rogers has that classy look and vintage sound. I told her the Mapex look pretty, but the Rogers look cool. She looked me straight in the eyes and said "baby, I love you, but, nooooooooooooo! Ouch, oh well, didn't hurt to try, so for now it's, good bye new kit hello old kit, until I get that itch again, has anyone seen the calamine lotion? He, he.

Well, because we live together in a condo, she is on ss disability and money is tight at the moment.

You are correct sir. But Rogers did have it first. John Bonham also refitted his kit with the Rogers tom-holder also. It's sad the Rogers of today are so pitiful.
