Cymbal Choice? *Need Help!*

Hey everyone, hope you all had great New Years. ;D

Anyway, I'm very close to purchasing a PDP FS series 5 piece drum set w/ cymbals for $400.

I'm primarily into Danny Carey / Chris Pennie / drum and bass style drumming, if that gives a small frame of reference.

My budget has not been established, but as of now I'm looking to get some hi-hats and a crash. I will need to purchase the hi-hat stand as well, but not the crash stand, so keep that in mind as well.

Oh, and while I'm asking, what's everyone's opinion on the Sabian HHX 16" Evolution Ozone Crash - is it a good overall crash?

hey, welcome to the forum!
great kit your picking up there, PDP fs kits are very nice!
as for cymbals, the 16" HHX Ozone crash is a great cymbal - but maybe not allround
my .02$ - i'd get the 14" HHX X-celarator Hats and an 18" HHX X-plosion crash - it washes nicely, can build up and burst wonderfully and really does explode on a hard stroke, great for drum and bass!

Ya, I've been doing some research after asking my question and I think I had decided on the HHX X-celarator Hats, but I'm still looking for samples to determine which crash fits my situation.

I'll have to check the x-plosion out. Thanks.
