What do you use to practice quietly?
I have a set of Vic Firth drum mutes, but i'm not too fond of it, because you are hitting pieces of rubber. That feels very bad, comparing to normal heads.

He means how you practice, and your parents/neighbours/wife don't get deaf??
If you do that, the question is how do you do that?
Do you understand?? ;-)

Ahhh, that is most admireable Grasshopper...but the real question isn't how do you practice quietly............But rather how quietly do you practice.

I just use my drum pad either on my lap or in my snare stand...my wife does not mind it at all and it keeps me learning
