Sonor Double Bass Drum Pedal DP492S

I'm Looking to have this double bass drum pedal:

DW > all IMO, its all opinion. Go to guitarcenter or samash or a local music store and try out pedals on drums or practice pads and see which fits you!

The sonor is light and fast, but I preferred both the eliminator and the DW.

I've only tried the single of this Sonor pedal.

However, I use a double Pearl Eliminator and can vouch for it as being a solid, versatile and overall great pedal.

The other thing that bothered me is that in most places, the Sonor is more expensive than the DW9002.

The DP492? I was pretty sure that is classed as a £200 approx. price range double kick. The GDPR "Giant" is the expensive one as far as I know. Although dare I say, I know many guys who think Sonor gear is very over priced for what you get...

Well, that is a ridiculous price for the latter, for lack of a better expression. I don't care how good it is.

Yep the giant step... that thing was like $700-$800 vs DW 9002 $449.

Well, I just found several sites online selling it for over a GRAND! Crazy money for a kick. You can collect a great maple shell pack, new, for the kind of money they are asking for it.

i got exacly that sonor double-pedal...and it is a good and light pedal! the only alternative i see within that price range is the DW7002, but i didn't like the feel of it.

i suppose you're starting to learn double-bass...i was in the same position and since i didn't knew if i'd ever need it in the music i play i didn't wanna waste too much money! what i want to advice you is spending that 100 bucks more and buy an eliminator, unless you're absolutely not sure if you'll ever be using it...BUT even if you are not, buying a pearl eliminator results in a much higher re-sale value than the sonor on ebay, since it's much more known in the drummer world!

i think its fast but i'd rather be working on a hard pedal so my feet can build up to go even faster on my Pearl P122TW Double Pedal it might be a little slow and mine started making a wierd noise i htink i need to oil it or something but if i get better i can play faster

Ehhh I don't think its that fast, but i do think its the best dbl pedal for the money. I own one and haven't had anything in the price range beat it. The Dw 7000's or 5000's nahh, didn't like the pearls either. However mine has different beaters and i like the ones mine has better than the ones in the picture.

I had the famous Eleminator with thousand of adjustment possible.It was my first double bass pedal but, I never found the speed I had before with my old Slingerland single. Now I'm looking for a solid and reliable double pedal and I found the Sonor DP492S no too much expensive under 200$. There is also some chineese stuff I beleive called Vex Pro on E-Bay looks pretty good on pictures and specifications but are those things reliable?

When I got my Sonor Force 2001 kit, I swapped in the DP492S. I would have preferred something with more reputation. I think I make it what it can be, a medium paced, but solid playing pedal. The adjustment-factor is good enough for me and is quick and sensetive enough for most any type feel. I'm a bit skeptical on single-chain pedals after having one in the past collapse in the middle of a show (the single pedal version).

Ultimately, I would love to be able to spring for the Axis longboard double pedal. I'm a true believer that pedals are like golf clubs...you'd be amazed at what someone can do with a old, rusty, no-name POS...

Although stepping into the high-end club/pedal might be a step back at first...of course. After a re-familiarization and some good practice time behind the kit, you'll always find improvement beyond what you think you might have been on that old, crusty, rusty, no-name POS.

So, it's either a Axis or DW 9002 for me...but for now, the DP492S will continue to serve me fine. Go try what you can get your hands (feet) on before you buy.
