Does anyone use them here?

I would like to trigger a sampled sound from my Bass drum and wondered if they can trigger a standard drum machine (I have an Alesis Performance Pad)

Or do I have to get the Ddrum sound module?

How have you guys used them? do they work well? etc etc

I bought a DDrum Redshot bass drum trigger for poops and giggles to use with my Roland SPD-S. I wouldn't use it for playing live or recording, just screwing around with some odd effects. It works well. Never had a problem. It does take some time to get the settings dialed in, but that kind of depends on the module you have. I'm sure some have an easier interface than the SPD-S. Durability is something that I haven't really tested. Bass drum triggers take no abuse really. They are never in danger of getting hit by a stick and are kind of guarded by the bass drum rim. For the price you can't go wrong. I think I spent around 30 bucks for the trigger and 15 for a nice chord. Just go for it.
